Doncaster-based MS International has released final results for the year ended 30 April 2021 and although the shares have moved higher on the news, which was undoubtedly positive, they remain good value…
It is both pleasing and reassuring to report that for the year ended 30th April 2021, the Company returned to profits with a pre-tax figure of £1.59m (2020 – loss £3.25m) on revenue of £61.54m (2020 – £61.15m).
A year ago, in my Chairman’s Statement, I stated that we were approaching ‘very interesting times’. At that juncture, we were reasonably confident of making good progress throughout the coming year, although it later became evident that global, political and economic uncertainty was gathering momentum and our businesses would not be immune from its effects, as evidenced in our half year results.
We anticipated that the first half year, ended 31st October 2019, would be a challenging period and advised in September that, in the short term, we expected a substantial weakening in the Company’s results.
For the year ending 27th April 2019, the result on a ‘like for like’ basis increased by 48% to £5.99m (2018 – £4.04m) on revenue of £77.71m (2018 – 68.09m) an uplift of 14% on last year.
